Doke Estate Black Fusion is from the Bihar region in northeastern India, located just south of Nepal and the well-known tea-producing region of Darjeeling. It is a low-lying area with a subtropical climate - hot, humid summers and cool winters. This region is a major agricultural center in India, but is relatively new to the production of tea. Doke Estate is located at an elevation of 164 feet next to the Doke River and it is the only tea garden in Bihar. It produces award-winning teas using Camellia sinensis assamica plants that are cultivated using natural farming methods. The teas are hand-harvested and then hand-crafted by the owner's daughter.
These large leaves yield a robust, bold, and complex, medium- to full-bodied infusion with sweet and rich notes of molasses, malt, honey, rose, and a bright, citrusy finish.
