2012 Hua Zhuan Hei Cha Dark Tea Cube 3pk

$10.00

2012 Hua Zhuan Hei Cha Dark Tea is a post-fermented and aged dark tea from An Hua county in the Hunan Province of China. Wild-grown leaves undergo the pile fermented process used to produce dark teas, which encourages the growth of beneficial bacteria on the leaves and replicates an accelerated "aging". The leaves were then firmly compressed into 2kg bricks and stored for 10 years before being cut into cubes for ease of use.

The leaves yield a very smooth and clean medium-bodied infusion that is creamy and rich with fruity (roasted pear) and slightly earthy notes and a sweet lingering finish. A lovely complexity unravels with each infusion.

Each cube is 10-12 grams. They are perfectly portioned for two Gong Fu sessions or to make one to two cups of tea. The leaves can be infused multiple times. A Pu-er knife is highly recommended to split the cube in half and the hottest water possible is suggested to help the leaves separate. Works great in a travel mug or other vessel where the leaves can continue to infuse.

  • Tea is priced by a pack of 3 cubes.
  • Minimum purchase of 2 packs.
