Satemwa Estate Bvumbwe BSP Malawi White Tea

$8.00

Satemwa Estate Bvumbwe BSP is a white tea that is grown and produced in the Thyolo District in the southern Shire Highlands. Established in 1923 at an elevation about 3,300 feet to grow both tea and coffee in the temperate climate, it is one of the few remaining family-owned tea gardens in the area, as most gardens have been sold to larger companies looking to produce commodity tea. This garden produces artisanal teas derived from experiments with the local cultivars of the tea plant that have been developed here over the decades - Bvumbwe, Thyolo and Zomba.

This tea is comprised of broken leaf grade leaves from a single field in the garden that have undergone a moderate amount of oxidation. The leaves yield an infusion that is smooth, flavorful, complex and medium-bodied with warm, sweet, fruity, and honey notes.

  • Tea is priced and sold by the ounce.
  • Minimum purchase of 2 ounces.
