Lu An Gua Pian (Melon Seed) Green Tea is from the Dabie Mountain region in Lu An County in the western part of Anhui Province, China. Unlike most other green teas, only the first and second leaves are plucked (the bud is left on the plant), the central vein is removed, and then the leaf undergoes a laborious special rolling to result in the desired shape, which is reminiscent of a Melon or Pumpkin Seed.
The leaves unfurl to yield a medium-bodied, smooth, rich and flavorful infusion with sweet, clean, earthy notes and a hint of floral.
