Glenburn Estate Autumn Crescendo FTGFOP Darjeeling India Black Tea

$7.00

Glenburn Estate Autumn Crescendo FTGFOP is from the famous tea-producing Darjeeling Region in the foothills of the Himalayas in the state of West Bengal in northeastern India. Established around 1859, the 1600-acre estate is located at about 3,200 feet and is planted with the Camellia sinensis sinensis variety of the tea plant. The garden uses sustainable agricultural practices and is a member of the Ethical Tea Partnership, a tea-specific fair trade organization. As such, it provides living and working conditions that exceed those required by Indian law, a hospital and schools for the workers’ children.

Autumn-harvested teas are plucked in the autumn beginning in September after the monsoon rains have ended and into November before the much colder temperatures arrive.

Coppery and dark brown leaves yield an amber, full-bodied and aromatic infusion that is mellow, but richer than earlier flushes with notes of fallen leaves, malt, and stone fruit.

  • Tea is priced and sold by the ounce.
  • Minimum purchase of 2 ounces.
