Temi Estate Black Tea is produced in Sikkim, a little-known state in northeastern India just north of its more famous neighbor Darjeeling. The tea garden was established in 1969 and is approximately 440 acres. It is located in the foothills of the Himalayas and ranges in elevation between 4,800 to 6,200 feet. The teas from this garden are grown using organic methods, but they are not certified organic.
The leaves of this tea have characteristics reminiscent of Darjeeling teas and yield a medium-bodied and flavorful infusion that has a slight astringency and woody, honey, stone fruit and nutty notes.
