Longjing Organic, also known as Dragonwell, is a green tea from the green hills in the region in and around the town of Hangzhou in the Zhejiang Province of China. The province is located on the east coast, just north of Fujian, and is mostly hilly with plains dominating in the north. The climate is humid and subtropical, providing an ideal climate for this agricultural region. Longjing is one of the ten most famous teas of China and it is highly prized and often copied. We offer two grades of Longjing - this standard grade and a premium grade. Both of our Longjing offerings are from an area outside Hangzhou, so that we may provide these wonderful teas at a reasonable price.
The hand-plucked and processed leaves have a distinctive flat shape from hand-pressing them against the sides of a hot wok during the pan-firing stage. The leaves yield a balanced, robust and rich, light- to medium-bodied infusion that is aromatic with nutty, toasty and grassy notes reminiscent of roasted chestnuts.
