Gong Mei Aged White Tea Mini Bricks are from the famous white-producing region of Fuding in the Fujian Province in China. This is the origin of white tea production and is the home of its sister white teas, Bai Mu Dan and Silver Needle. The plants are located at an elevation about 3,000 feet and benefit from the cooler, milder and mistier climate than that of the subtropical monsoon climate down off the mountain. Gong Mei is a lower grade than Bai Mu Dan with a fewer bud-to-leaf ratio. It consists of a pluck that includes the bud and goes down to the second or third leaf and/or it contains a few more broken leaves. The leaves were harvested, dried thoroughly and aged in dry storage condition in loose leaf form for about two years before being pressed into these little bricks.
The leaves and buds yield a smooth, clean and quenching light-bodied infusion that is fresh, fruity and mildly earthy with a sweet lingering finish.
Each mini brick weighs 1-2g, making it easy to count out the amount you need.
