Gao Shan Organic Wulong is from Yunnan Province, China. Gao Shan, or High Mountain, teas are generally teas grown in Taiwan above 3,300 feet in elevation; however, this is a special and rare style of this wulong from Yunnan. The tea garden is located in the Wu Liang Mountains in the Simao District of Pu-er Prefecture. This is a high elevation area that produces stunning teas including black, green, and Pu-er teas that are grown at elevations around 4,900 feet. This tea is crafted from a Taiwanese wulong cultivar by a Taiwanese teamaker. The leaves undergo light to medium oxidation and are tightly rolled; there is no roasting on them.
The leaves unfurl to yield a smooth, aromatic, balanced, thick and coating light- to medium-bodied infusion that is full-flavored, sweet and savory with creamy, floral, and grassy notes.
Leaves may be infused multiple times.
