Luponde Estate Organic is a black tea produced in the highlands of Tanzania. The Luponde Estate was established in 1954 at an elevation of 7,000 feet in the Livingstone Mountains of southern Tanzania. The plants benefit from a humid subtropical climate that is ideal for growing tea. This is the first certified organic garden in Tanzania and is the largest employer in the town of Luponde.
The hand-harvested leaves yield a medium-bodied, smooth and flavorful infusion that is bright and lively with citrus notes.
